You want to try to de-stress before sleep, but over time, if. Fails to work like it used to. Now you have the stress and a wine habit too. It’s not an addiction, but it is an endless cycle of trying to relax. There’s a missing factor that if you discover it could break this cycle and start getting the relaxation, rest, and sleep that you’ve always wanted. Game on Sports Fitness and hell fans. Welcome back to another episode of Sporting Good [00:01:00] Posture. This is Coach Margiela here, and today’s episode is called What? Wine Pairs With Sleep. We’re all familiar with this scenario. You’ve had a stressful day, you’re just trying to relax. You reach for a glass and a bottle of wine to relax. And you want to try to de-stress before sleep, but for some, this becomes a habit and over time it fails to work like it used to. And now you have the stress and a wine habit too. It’s not an addiction, but it is an endless cycle of trying to relax. What most fail to realize is that. You’re trying to handle relaxation from stress, and this can be caused by the very thing that you’re trying to handle, in this case, wine. And after a while, it may take two glasses, three glasses, a whole bottle of wine to actually do the trick. However, there’s a missing factor that if you discover it could break the cycle and start getting the relaxation, rest and sleep that you’ve always wanted without the wine. Now, I’ve had a lot of patients [00:02:00] over the years that have told me, I can’t relax before bed without my glass of wine. Have you ever said this, ever known someone to say this? If you’ve heard it? It isn’t a one-time deal. It’s becoming a habit that’s hard to break, but the reason it can’t is not because you have to have it, it’s because the alcohol is making the problem worse, and it feels like a never-ending cycle. So you need to look at your situation. What are you doing right now that is causing you to be less able to relax and need more wine, especially at bedtime? The main issue is function. Your body’s supposed to relax on its own and then rise to the occasion when needed. This means that your body should be able to put in the effort for the day. To do the work you have to do to go to the gym and come home and hang out with the family, make dinner, and then relax when it’s actually time to relax and sleep. When it’s time to sleep without any medicines or, or in this case, wine, the issue, there’s a dysfunction in your body causing your body to have this [00:03:00] dysfunction. So you’re not able to sleep, you’re not able to relax like you should on your own. What happens that blocks this flow of power or nerve flow in this case, If you look at an electrical circuit, an easy way to stop the flow of electricity is to break the circuit, or at least divert some of the power to somewhere else. And even easier way is to disconnect the circuit completely from the main power source. In other words, unplug it. This translates to the human body and the blockages of energy flow, structurally speaking. Your posture plays a big role. Imbalances in the body can cause basic structure to interfere physically with the energy that flows in your body. You can see this just by looking in the mirror to see if your shoulders are unlevel, if your head is tilted to one side or the other. If your hips are not even if your knees or your feet turn in, all these things can be seen in the mirror to see if there’s any kind of imbalances in [00:04:00] your body. The question is, What are your blockages and how do you unblock them to get sleep or relax? The answers can vary depending on your situation and the factors involved. In my clinic, I can assess people to see if there’s some kind of vitamin or mineral deficiency. So we look at your diet and assess the factors. To see if diet or nutrition are a factor in the obstruction of the nerve flow without proper nutrition. It’s like a sports car basically that doesn’t have the proper fuel, so it won’t perform like a sports car. It’ll perform like a pinto. But if for instance, you have blocked nerve energy flow such as structural imbalances, Chiropractors like myself, handle these problems and open up and restore the function in your body. This is a common misconception about chiropractors is that we’re just back or neck doctors, but it’s really more than that. It’s about getting the whole body. To function at its best. It’s about getting the whole [00:05:00] body to do what it’s supposed to do without interference so that you can live a healthier life and do the normal functions that you expect to do every day. As a chiropractor, I take a whole body approach and I look at the timeline of small traumas that you’ve had maybe as a kid up until your job where you’re sitting at a desk all day at work without this whole body approach. You’re never gonna find the actual answer to your problem. 90% of my discipline is dedicated to doing search and investigation into the total cause and find where its origins are and the true reason why something is dysfunctioning. So if you’re having postural issues, if you feel like you’re imbalanced, if you’re not sleeping well, if you’re not digesting well, these are symptoms. Symptoms of a much larger problem. It can lead to you needing wine in bed or any other alcoholic beverage to help you try to relax before sleep or to get to sleep and actually stay asleep all night.
